Opposite is a brand new Custom shop Les Paul with a quilted maple top. The owner of this guitar is not impressed with the paintwork, it's lumpy, dull, and finished in a way that does not benifit the quilted maple top.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The customer has decided to have the guitar completely refinished with a more vintage style burst on the top and a cherry red back, sides and neck.

Here you see the guitar in the spray booth awaiting top coat after the quilted maple top has gone through a staining process to 'pop the grain' and allow the true beauty of the wood to show through

 

 

 

 

 

This is the completed guitar, refinished in the colour the customer requested and also a much better finish than the original Gibson finish.
